Final presentation of the one-week education project with students of the Bettinaschule Frankfurt and Ensemble Modern
In its combination of three elements – image (black-and-white photographs by Franz Hubmann), music (including music with a Viennese »Heuriger« flavour) and text (Viennese dialect as written by the poet Ernst Klein) – Friedrich Cerha’s ›1. Keintate‹ with its critical view of metropolitan society offers the 100 students of the Bettinaschule Frankfurt’s 7th grade and school orchestra many points of departure for their creative explorations. Led by Ensemble Modern musicians and with pedagogical help from the school’s own music teachers, they will compose, arrange, write lyrics and choreograph for a week. The results of this intensive development work will be presented before the opening concert, as a little festival preview, at the Bettinaschule’s auditorium. Ensemble Modern has been implementing education projects involving Frankfurt schools since 1988 – together with the International Ensemble Modern Academy (IEMA) since 2009.
