Caligari Filmbühne

Caligari FilmBühne is Wiesbaden‘s communal cinema. Named for the expressionist silent film ›Das Cabinet des Dr. Caligari‹, this »jewel among movie theatres« (Volker Schlöndorff) is known for its high-carat and diverse programming. The Caligari keeps film history alive. German films and European cinema are screened in equal measure with international arthouse productions, documentaries and short films. Numerous film festivals and events with guests from the film world are highlights in the Caligari’s repertoire. The so-called ›Dream Movies‹ series for children and school events introduce young audiences to art film. The Caligari is run by the Office for Culture of the State Capital of Wiesbaden.
